In 1977 he filmed "El jardín de los cerezos" based on the harvest by Anton Chejov. That year he also found with the encouragement of the Instituto Nacional Indigenista (National Indigenist Institue) the program "Ollin Yoliztli, or audiovisual remembrance of local culture of Mexico", where he work photograph, copy and film higher than 20 native group across the countryside. Some of these documentaries can be see in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Later he went into TV where he directed and produced (some) "El Padre Gallo", "La gloria y el infierno", "La fuerza del amor", and the historical series "El vuelo del águila", based on the life of mexican president Porfirio Díaz, and "La antorcha encendida".
